The Village of Hudson is an equal opportunity employer committed to ensuring compliance with all applicable federal and state laws. While the Village is unable to comment on the employment of any specific employee due to privacy concerns for that individual, in general, the Village treats each employee request for work accommodations on an individual, case by case basis taking into account such factors as the employee’s work restrictions and length of time those restrictions will be in place, the essential and non-essential job functions of the employee’s position, and the impact of the employee’s restrictions on other employees with the same job duties. The Village of Hudson Police Department is very small with only 1 full-time officer and 5 part-time officers. Due to the small size of the department, not having an officer available for work assignments for a prolonged period of time creates an undue burden on the operations of the department. The Village is not required to create additional employment that it would have not otherwise created in order to accommodate an employee’s work restrictions.
Under the current garbage contract, free bulk pick up will only occur on the first Tuesday of each month. Residents MUST call the Village Office at (309) 726-1099 and give an address and a list of the items to be picked up. If you wish to have bulk items picked up at any other time during the month, you MUST call AREA Disposal at (309) 821-9743. There is a $35 fee for EACH item. The Village of Hudson asks that you NOT set your bulk items out before Tuesday on the week they are to be picked up. It has become apparent that some residents have been confused and bulk items have been left on the curb for weeks at a time. I think we can all agree that this is not the look we want for our community. Any questions, call Carol at (309) 726-1099.

Starting November 2016, Area Disposal Serivce, Inc. of Bloomington Illinois will become the contracted provider of garbage collection and consumer waste recycling services for the Village of Hudson residents. As a part of this contract every household will be provided with two 95 gallon waste containers, one for waste and one for recycling. Moving to a cart service for garbage and recycling collection will not only benefit our customers but also the community and environment as we improve our efforts to "Go Green". New garbage service details can be found here City Services > Garbage & Recycling
The village has changed garbage contractors, with this change ALL residents will need to put garbage and recycling out on Wednesday 10/26/2016 and leave both cans at the curb until the current provider picks them up. This process should happen over the remainder of the week. During the same timeline our new provider will be dropping off our new cans. The new garbage day will be THURSDAY, so our first day with the new contractor will be 11/03/2016. Residents will be receiving a mailing from the new contractor explaining everything.
